Imaginary Review - The Lost Boys:The Game

Imaginary Review – The Lost Boys:The Game

Initiation’s over, time to play the game.

The Lost Boys: The Game opens with a gliding aerial view over the boardwalk and city of Santa Carla, murder capital of the world, to the strains of INXS. As the cut scene plays out we are introduced to moody protagonist Michael and his family. Having fallen in with a spectacularly-mulleted bad crowd, our job is to save the family from a bloodsucking, biker gang, led by David, before Michael himself succumbs to full time vamping.

Popping My Minecraft Cherry (Xbox)

Popping My Minecraft Cherry (Xbox)

This isn’t really a review as such. I don’t do reviews because it takes time, patience and effort. However, when Minecraft was released on Xbox this week I struggled to find a review entirely from the perspective of a complete newcomer. Most seemed to be written by PC gamers who spent a lot of their review talking about the PC version. I understand this Xbox release is lacking a lot of features which is a major bummer (yeah, I said “major bummer”, this is why I don’t write proper reviews) but that doesn’t really help us console folk. Those that replied to my twitter-plea were all interested in the views of a newbie so here’s mine. It may or may not help you decide whether to try the game, you could just play the trial which is WAY more fun than reading this.

The Return Of Sofa Gaming

The Return Of Sofa Gaming

I am a multiplayer gamer. At home most of my recent gaming fixes have been coming from Battlefield 3 conquest games which I’ve currently poured 86+ hours into (my parents would be so proud). If I’m not on BF3 then I’m trying to round up friends into Left 4 Dead or bugging them to do the Saints Row 3 co-op with me. Rarely am I found on a single player game. I do work through campaigns and have completed the likes of Modern Warfare 3 and Arkham City in recent months but so many titles lay half-played because frolicking online with friends will distract me every time.

Gamers Guide To Surviving the 2012 Apocalypse

Assuming you haven’t been living under a rock, in some kind of desolate internet-free land or on the Google+ wastelands then you’ll be more than aware of our impending doom in 2012. Shit will royally hit the fan and, unfortunately, John Cusack cannot save us all. Luckily for us the apocalypse isn’t meant to happen until December so here’s a handy guide I’ve created to help you survive.

My Alternative Gaming Awards 2011

My Alternative Gaming Awards 2011

It’s that time of year where magazines/podcasts/websites all start handing out awards for GOTY, best multiplayer, etc etc. That’s a bit boring so I’m going to do my alternative gaming awards. I may miss out some obvious contenders but can only include games I’ve actually played this year. Now on with the show, drum-roll please!

Gaming Snobbery - MW3 vs Skyrim

Gaming Snobbery – MW3 vs Skyrim

I wanted to tweet something this morning about this whole Skyrim vs Modern Warfare 3 vibe I see from fellow gamers on Twitter, Facebook or message boards/comments sections however 140 characters were not sufficient to contain my vitriol. They are both games I would be interested in trying although it’s unlikely I’ll purchase them anytime soon thanks to a continued addiction to Battlefield 3 and the fact that I’m poor.
